Without counsel plans fail but with many advisers they succeed.
In all journeys, we start at one point and finish at another. The road takes us through hills and valleys and twists and turns. But, our focus must always be on wise words that guide our path. When setting forth on an adventure, whether business or personal, it is good to seek counsel from those we trust. Without counsel, plans fail.
This Bible verse from the book of Proverbs reminds us that success in life and in achieving our goals is often best through collaboration and seeking advice from others. A group of advisers can lead to better outcomes than relying solely on our own ideas and plans. We gain knowledge from their successes and failures.
I was recently going through some life changes and seeking a new direction. I reached out to trusted friends and colleagues to help guide my path. Because of their care for me, their similar values in life, and their experience, I was able to truly see that the path I was on was detouring me away from my goals.
God’s Word is our Ultimate Guide
The Word of God is our ultimate guide for advice. The Bible says in Proverbs 15:22, “without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers, they succeed.” Seek guidance from those you respect, admire, and who have shown you care time and time again. From a young age, we encounter people who are more successful, have far more experience, and have overcome many adversities. It is wise to know our strengths and weaknesses and seek counsel as we walk the journey God sets before us.
Proverbs 15:22 is a powerful reminder of the importance of seeking advice from others and the impact that it can have on our success. As you plan your career, business, relationship, or ministry, pray that God will guide you to seek advice from the right people. He will also lead you to ask the right questions to those who genuinely care for you and always want to lift you up. Also, be encouraged that failures and mistakes help us grow and become stronger. Even during our valleys we never want to stop seeking guidance and direction.
